Job summary

Greene-County Board of Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform general repairs and preventive maintenance for board-owned residences and Homecroft, Inc. properties.

Under the direction of the Manager, you will handle plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry tasks, obtain quotes, coordinate with service providers, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and provide on-call emergency response as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of experience in residential property maintenance, facilities management, or related trades (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, or general construction).
• Knowledge of safety guidelines and OSHA regulations for residential maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs for plumbing, heating, cooling, ventilating and electrical systems.
• Obtain quotes, secure services, purchase supplies; process payments and maintain records.
• Coordinate maintenance with service providers and ensure work meets standards and regulations.
• Provide safety instructions to contractors and maintain resident respect.
• Develop and use a maintenance and inspection system; prepare operational reports.
• Visit properties regularly to monitor conditions and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide excellent tenant service and coordinate meetings among housing corporations, tenants, and providers.
• Provide on‑call emergency maintenance support.
