Job summary

GetHired, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform varied upkeep for residential units, including plumbing, electrical, painting, and appliance repairs.

You will inspect, repair, and prepare units for occupancy while maintaining safety and quality standards. Responsibilities include responding to work orders promptly, keeping detailed maintenance records, and assisting with inspections and make-ready procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or vocational certificate preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to bend, lift, climb stairs/ladders, and use hand tools 66%–100% of the time.
• Ability to read, speak and comprehend work orders and safety regulations.
• Technical knowledge of building systems (electrical, heating, etc.).
• Willingness to assist in other maintenance areas when needed.
• Personable and trustworthy; able to work with residents and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic repairs to appliances, fixtures, switches, outlets, and/or circuits.
• Perform light plumbing work (clogs, replacing fittings).
• Perform carpentry work (doors, windows, shelves) and interior/exterior painting.
• Replace damaged glass, tile, carpet, window screens, lighting fixtures, locks.
• Report maintenance and resident concerns to Maintenance Supervisor.
• Respond to work orders and resident requests within 24 hours when possible.
• Keep accurate records for preventive maintenance, work orders, inventories and purchase orders.
• Assist site manager with move-in/move-out inspections.
• Assist with routine inspections required by federal/state agencies.
• Make-ready procedures for vacant units.
• Identify water and gas meter cut-offs, unit fixture cut-offs, sewer clean-outs.
• Perform scheduled maintenance per manufacturer manuals.
• Inspect units and common areas; perform repairs and janitorial duties as needed.
• Ensure storage areas and entrances are locked and well lit.
• Attend training and follow OSHA, Fair Housing, and ADA standards.
• Interact professionally with residents, visitors, contractors and management.
• Track maintenance equipment/material usage.
• Additional duties on request.
