Job summary

The Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey seeks a Director of Residential Services to oversee Weinberg Commons’ operations, care coordination, and staff, ensuring high-quality daily living activities and compliance with state and funding requirements.

Responsibilities include leadership of staff, program oversight, budget participation, admissions management, and maintaining rigorous documentation and regulatory compliance across all aspects of the residential program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Five (5) years of progressive management experience working with people with developmental disabilities, including at least two (2) supervisory in nature.
• Knowledge in design and supervision of programs serving individuals with developmental disabilities, development of staff, and application of fiscal and qualitative standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and oversight to direct and indirect reports, including leadership, training, and guidance on daily care and safety.
• Ensure adequate staffing patterns and equitable work distribution within Weinberg Commons.
• Attend management and external meetings to share information and promote open dialogue.
• Direct performance management including evaluating staff, setting goals, and implementing improvement plans.
• Oversee program operations to maintain compliance with licensing and regulatory standards and ensure a safe environment.
• Participate in budget development and monitor expenses to keep within the fiscal plan.
• Oversee admissions, transitions to discharge sites, and screening of referrals for appropriate placement.
• Maintain records integrity and ensure documentation quality for internal/external audits.
• Maintain emergency procedures and crisis intervention methods in line with approved policies.
• Model professional conduct and ensure compliance with mission, values, and ethical standards.
• Stay current with required training certifications and licensing regulations.
