Job summary

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health seeks a Program Supervisor for a new STAIRS residential program serving youth with autism and developmental disabilities. This role leads direct care staff, plans services, and ensures a safe, therapeutic environment in a 2pm-10pm shift in the Homestead area near Pittsburgh.

You will supervise staff, ensure compliance with licensing and CARF standards, manage program operations, and collaborate with families and external agencies to support facility-wide goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least twelve credit hours in a human services discipline and two years direct care experience.
• Or 60 college credits with at least twelve credit hours in a human services discipline and three years direct care experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support direct care staff, including task assignments and performance feedback.
• Oversee daily residential program operations, including activities, schedules, and staff coverage.
• Assist with program planning, quality assurance, and communication with families and external agencies.
• Manage program budgets with a focus on efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and best practices.
• Provide crisis prevention and intervention support using approved techniques and protocols.
• Coach staff on effective crisis response and safety procedures.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory standards (e.g., licensing, CARF, Joint Commission).
• Monitor and report changes in resident behavior or health to the appropriate team members.
• Ensure accurate documentation of treatment services, incidents, and safety interventions.
• Mentor and orient new staff, providing guidance on policies and procedures.
• Conduct timely performance evaluations for direct reports.
• Delegate tasks effectively and foster a culture of accountability and ownership.
• Maintain up-to-date training and actively pursue professional development opportunities.
