Job summary

New Avenues to Independence, Inc. seeks a Program Specialist to support individuals served and supervise Direct Support Professionals across community-based homes. You will ensure health, safety and welfare, train staff on ISP/BSP, and promptly report issues to leadership.

The role requires organizing schedules, coordinating medical appointments, and maintaining accurate documentation while ensuring high-quality service delivery in a supervisory capacity.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience with individuals with IDD.
• Minimum one year of supervision experience.
• Ability to stay organized while managing multiple tasks.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license with 4 points or less on driving record and current Auto Insurance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Welfare of individuals served through direct services.
• Direct staff training on ISP, BSP, and service delivery techniques.
• Report conduct/performance issues to Program Developer promptly.
• Manage and review schedules, payroll, and site documentation.
• Arrange medical appointments and relay orders to staff promptly.
• Communicate medical recommendations to Program Developers and Health Services Manager.
• Ensure incident reporting procedures are followed and documented timely.
• Maintain financial information and secure monies for individuals as required.
• Maintain house safety, cleanliness, diet planning, and repairs coordination.
• On-call responsibilities to maintain staffing and timely communication.
