Job summary

ColumbiaCare Services is seeking a Residential Peer Support Specialist to join our North Bend/Coos Bay programs. You will welcome residents at admission, provide compassionate support, and help articulate personal recovery goals through one‑to‑one conversations and peer groups.

The role includes crisis de-escalation training, possible travel to Coos Bay, and a part-time schedule from 1:00pm to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Have personal experience with mental health challenges.
• Be certified and registered as a Peer Support Specialist (PSS) or Peer Wellness Specialist (PWS) through the Oregon Health Authority (OHA).

Responsibilities

• Meet each new resident at admission and provide welcoming, compassionate support.
• Engage in one‑to‑one conversations to build trust and guide recovery goals.
• Facilitate and coordinate peer groups to discuss recovery stories and challenges.
• Participate in crisis de‑escalation training and related physical safety tasks.
• Travel to Coos Crisis Resolution Center in Coos Bay as needed.
