Job summary

ColumbiaCare Services is seeking a Residential Peer Support Specialist for the Bell Cove RTH program in Brookings, Oregon. You will welcome new residents, support self-determined goals, and build trust through one-to-one conversations.

You will facilitate peer groups, connect residents with community supports, and receive crisis de-escalation training; certification as a PSS or PWS is required.

Qualifications

• Have personal experience with mental health challenges
• Be Certified and Registered as a Peer Support Specialist (PSS) or Peer Wellness Specialist (PWS) through the Oregon Health Authority (OHA).

Responsibilities

• Meet each new resident at admission and support the individual in feeling welcome.
• Engage in one-to-one conversations to build trust and connection.
• Facilitate and coordinate peer groups where residents discuss recovery stories and challenges.
• Provide crisis de-escalation training and support, including protective physical techniques when needed.
