Job summary

Freeman Regional Health Services in Freeman, SD seeks a compassionate Residential Nursing Assistant to provide direct care in an assisted living setting. You will assist residents with daily activities, monitor well-being, and build meaningful relationships with residents and their families.

This PRN position offers flexible shifts including days, evenings, and weekends, with strong emphasis on safety, quality of care, and teamwork within a supportive program.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years or older.
• Ability to work the hours specified and perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily activities and provide physical and emotional support.
• Develop close relationships with residents and their families.
• Provide companionship and reduce loneliness and isolation.
• Monitor health and safety, identify hazards and alert when needed.
• Maintain cleanliness in residents' living spaces.
• Notify nurses or supervisors about changes in residents' conditions.
• Maintain accurate records of residents' information.
• Follow established policies including fire, infection control, and safety procedures.
• Mentor new employees and assist with orientation.
• Lead by example following Freeman Regional Health Services CARE standards.

• Day Shift (6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.)
• Evening Shift (3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.)
• Night Shift (11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.)
• Rotating Weekends/Holidays

What You Will Do

• Assist residents with daily activities, providing physical and emotional support, which can significantly improve their quality of life.
• Develop close relationships with residents and their families, getting to know their individual needs and preferences.
• Provide companionship and reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation.
• Monitor the health and safety of residents, identifying potential hazards and ensuring quick access to help when needed.
• Maintain cleanliness in residents’ living spaces.
• Notify nurses or supervisors about changes in residents' conditions.
• Maintain accurate records of residents' information.
• Understanding and following established policy and procedures related to fire, tornado, evacuation, disaster plan, universal precautions, infection control procedures, hazardous and chemical communication program.
• Mentor new employees and assists with their orientation.
• Lead, by example, following Freeman Regional Health Services CARE standards.

Required Education, License/Certification, Or Work Experience

• Must be 16 years or older
