Job summary

Freeman Regional Health Services in Freeman, SD is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide essential daily care and emotional support to residents.

You will assist with activities of daily living, document care, and work within CARE standards, with day and night shifts available. Part-time and full-time options may apply.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Perform routine and non-routine duties as directed by nursing staff.
• Assist with bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, transfers, positioning, toileting, and call-light response.
• Document concise, factual information on appropriate forms.
• Assist with medical care activities per policy and contribute to the patient’s plan of care.
• Provide feedback to nursing staff on patient status, pain management, and concerns.
• Support families with emotional, educational, and spiritual needs.
• Adhere to resident rights, confidentiality, and privacy.

What You Will Do

• Provide assistance to residents with their activities of daily living.
• Perform routine duties and non-routine duties as directed by nursing staff.
• Duties may include but not limited to assisting patients with bathing and dressing needs, personal hygeine, transfers into and out of bed, repositioning, toileting needs, answering call lights, insuring a clean environment.
• Document concise and factual information on the appropriate forms.
• Perform or assist residents in performing specific medical care activities in accordance with established policy and procedure to contribute to the patient's plan of care.
• Provide feedback to nursing staff immediately on status or changes in patient conditions, pain management, and other important concerns.
• Participate in providing emotional, educational and spiritual support for families.
• Comply with all aspects of resident rights including confidentiality and privacy.
• Report all allegations of resident abuse or misappropriation of resident property.
• Understanding and following established policy and procedures related to fire, tornado, evacuation, disaster plan, universal precautions, infection control procedures, hazardous and chemical communication program.
• Mentor new employees and assists with their orientation.
• Lead, by example, following Freeman Regional Health Services CARE standards.

Required Education, License/Certification, Or Work Experience

• Must be 16 years or older.
• CNA Certified or the ability to complete the CNA courses to become certified within 60 days of hire.
