Job summary

Cathay Bank in California is seeking a Mortgage Loan Processor (Administrative) to manage residential loan files from application through approval and documentation. The role supports Mortgage Loan Originators by ensuring files are complete, compliant, and processed within SLAs.

Responsibilities include reviewing documentation, liaising with borrowers and stakeholders, and maintaining accurate loan records in the LOS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years in residential lending or related experience in a multi-state environment.
• Knowledge of residential mortgage lending products and underwriting regulations.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage a pipeline of residential mortgage and home equity loan applications.
• Understand mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Review documents for accuracy and completeness; identify potential issues.
• Process loan files to meet service level agreements and timelines.
• Communicate with borrowers, MLOs, underwriters, and vendors to obtain required documents.
• Ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory standards.
• Serve as liaison among MLOs, underwriters, closing agents, and title companies.
• Provide professional, timely customer service to internal and external customers.
• Monitor loan status and follow up on conditions toward closing.
• Maintain accurate loan records in the LOS.
