Job summary

The Guild for Human Services in Woburn, MA, is seeking a Full-time Residential Manager to lead staff in a live-in residence setting. You will supervise staff, manage data and records, and coordinate medical and daily living supports for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Qualifications include a 4-year degree, 1+ year in residential management, 2+ years direct support, and MAP certification or plan to obtain within 90 days.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least 1 year of residential management experience
  • At least 2 years of direct support experience with developmental disabilities
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must pass background check requirements
  • MAP certification or ability to pass MAP within 90 days

Responsibilities

  • Directly schedule, monitor, supervise, and evaluate all staff within the assigned residence
  • Participate in hiring, interviewing and disciplinary actions
  • Ensure residential data collection systems, logs and records are up to date
  • Oversee upkeep of the home by supervising day-to-day cleanliness and repairs
  • Oversee expenditures for household needs and activities and personal items
  • Coordinate and take individuals to doctors’ appointments with nursing
  • Monitor medications and coordinate with pharmacy or nursing in school aged programs
  • Communicate with parents/guardians weekly regarding progress and needs
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Directlyschedule,monitor,supervise,andevaluateallstaffwithintheassigned residence.
  • Participateinthehiring,interviewinganddisciplinaryaction processes.
  • Ensurethatallresidentialdatacollectionsystems,logsandrecordsareupto date.
  • Ensuretheupkeepofthehomebyoverseeingdaytodaycleanlinessandidentifying repairs.
  • Overseethehomesfood,supplyandcommunityactivityexpenditures,clothingand personal needs expenditures and/or individuals’ personal household accounts.
  • Overseeusage,orderingandpurchasingofindividualhouseholdandhealthrelated supplies.
  • Completeallrequired reportsandassessmentsusingHCSIS(DDS)
  • Ensureallincidentreports,restraintreportsandotherdocumentationiscompletedrelatedto all residential events and follow up on per Guild policy and the appropriate regulations.
  • Administerandrecordindividuals’medicationsincompliancewith MAP.
  • Ensureallstaffinthehomeadministerandrecordindividuals’medicationsincompliancewith MAP.
  • EnsurethedevelopmentoftheresidentialportionofISPandsubsequentreportsdesigned to best meet the needs of each individual and ensure that they are turned in on schedule.
  • EnsuretheimplementationofallISPobjectivesandrelatedresidentialservicesfor individuals who reside in the home.
  • Monitorindividual’sprogresstoensurethatgoalsareappropriateonatleastaquarterly basis.
  • EnsurethatdatasheetsforISP objectivesarecompletedaccordingtoscheduleandare updated as needed.
  • CoordinateandtakeindividualstoDoctors’appointmentsincollaborationwith nursing.
  • Monitoralltheindividuals’medicationsandcoordinatewiththepharmacy(ornursinginschool aged programs) if orders are needed.
  • Facilitatecommunicationbetweenthehomeanddayprogram(s)Facilitatecommunication within the home among staff persons working different shifts.
  • Communicate with parents/guardians,family members, stakeholderagencyrepresentatives (DDS)onatleastaweeklybasisregardingindividuals,theirprogressandtheirneeds includingsharingstaffinginformationaboutthehomeandascheduleofbothhouseand individualactivities.
  • Beflexible;availabletoassistother residences.
  • Performotherrelateddutiesas assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’sdegreeinspecialeducation,psychology,humanservicesorrelatedfield required;
  • Atleastoneyearofresidentialmanagementexperience andtwoyearsdirectsupport experience with developmental disabilities population required.
  • Reliabletransportationtomultipleresidentiallocationsin Massachusetts
  • Avaliddriver's license
  • Must undergo background record check requirements.
  • MAPcertificationorabilitytopassMAPwithinfirst90 days.
  • Physicalandmentalcapacitytoworkinstressfulsituationsandde-escalateindividualswho have limited cognition and complex needs.
