Location and Compensation

Sudbury, MA | $60,000 - $65,000 annually

Mission

The Guild for Human Services mission is to educate, encourage, and empower individuals with intellectual disabilities so they may achieve their full potential to lead high-quality lives and participate meaningfully in the community.

Summary

Assist the Residential Manager (or Lead/Assistant Residential Manager) in the development and implementation of a comprehensive residential program for assigned individuals.

Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Work as a member of a team to maintain a clean, safe, positive living environment for each resident, including completing laundry and cleaning assignments.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of each individual’s residential ISP/IEP and daily activity schedule.
  • Attend and support individuals participating in all community experiences.
  • Implement positive behavior supports and individual behavior support plans for residents.
  • Provide supervision of all individuals while under his/her care.
  • Administer and record individuals’ medications in compliance with MAP.
  • Provide direct supervision and care to individuals, including 1:1 responsibilities at all times and locations.
  • Participate in any meetings pertaining to assigned individuals or program planning, as directed.
  • Engage in de‑escalation of individuals.
Essential Job Functions
  • Regular attendance at work, including during inclement weather.
  • Demonstrated evidence of mature judgment, good interpersonal skills, desire to enrich individuals’ lives, and willingness to learn.
  • Physical and mental capacity to work in stressful situations and de‑escalate individuals with limited cognition and complex needs.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Pass Guild Driving test to access Guild vehicles for transportation of individuals.
  • Ability to implement crisis intervention techniques as necessary, including nonviolent crisis intervention (via CPI certification).
  • Ability to assist individuals in evacuation from the residence.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree preferred; prior experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
  • Must meet Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) background requirements.
  • MAP (Medication Administration Program) certification or ability to obtain MAP certification within the first 90 days of employment.
