Job summary

Jones Street is seeking a Maintenance Technician to work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to keep the property running efficiently and to complete maintenance requests promptly.

The role covers plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance, carpentry and painting tasks, and requires on‑call involvement for after‑hours and weekend emergencies. You will prepare vacant units, repair issues, and maintain logs while delivering excellent resident service.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in residential, commercial, or mechanical maintenance.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and appliance issues.
• Capable of exerting 25–50 pounds of force frequently and 10–20 pounds constantly; able to climb stairs, use ladders, and work in varying weather conditions.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service requests in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring all assigned requests are completed promptly.
• Prepare vacant units for occupancy by painting, carpentry, general repairs, and other needed tasks.
• Work quickly without compromising quality, allowing time for other maintenance personnel during the make‑ready process.
• Repair holes in walls, caulk cracks around windows and doors, fix ceiling texture, patch walls and ceilings.
• Maintain accurate work order system logs of all actions and supplies.
• Provide excellent customer service and develop rapport with residents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Rotate on‑call emergency duty during nights and weekends.
• Perform all work in compliance with company policies, state and federal laws, OSHA, ADA, and Fair Housing.
