Job summary

American Avenue is seeking a maintenance technician to perform multi-trade repairs and ongoing property upkeep. You will inspect, repair, and maintain homes, ensuring safety and tenant satisfaction through proactive communication and timely service.

You will handle carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical tasks, conduct inspections, and manage work orders using handheld devices. Join a growing team focused on quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• Proficient in carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical work and property turns.
• Strong communication skills for positive resident and team interactions.
• Must own tools and have a truck or van.
• Valid driver’s license; reside within reasonable proximity.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
• Comfortable using handheld devices for work orders and updates.
• Familiar with building codes, EPA, and OSHA regulations.
• Maintain a professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs across trades (Carpentry, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical).
• Evaluate vacated homes to identify repairs, replacements and cleaning tasks.
• Conduct property inspections and wellness checks; secure homes.
• Handle minor pre-renovation repairs and utility inspections.
• Cosmetic refurbishment including drywall patching, painting, flooring, and deep cleaning.
• Document property conditions using handheld tech (iPad/iPhone).
