Job summary

Community Action Center of Northfield Inc. seeks a hands-on Maintenance Specialist to manage daily upkeep and repairs across multiple properties.

You will perform carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical tasks, while coordinating with contractors and maintaining detailed project records. Responsibilities include evaluating housing units for quality standards, developing work plans and schedules, and ensuring safe, compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in rental housing maintenance, repair, or construction.
• Experience in carpentry and painting preferred.
• One year in a lead position (foreman, independent contractor) preferred but not required.
• One year in work where services were provided directly to customers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and improve properties owned and managed by CAC including doors, windows, siding, roofing, plumbing fixtures, lighting, wallboard; complete painting and landscaping.
• Complete and update maintenance and repair plans with work lists, material lists, cost estimates, and work schedules.
• Supervise repair and improvement work by contractors.
• Maintain inventory of construction, repair and maintenance materials, tools and equipment.
• Inspect housing units to ensure assisted units meet Housing Quality Standards.
