Job summary

Blue River Services, Inc is seeking a Life Skills Home Lead Instructor to supervise second shift in a residential setting for individuals with developmental disabilities. You will lead staff, promote independence, support daily living skills, health and safety, and ensure a structured home environment.

This full-time role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to document progress, train new instructors, and coordinate ISP-related plans. Location: Milltown, Indiana.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• One year of experience in a residential setting serving individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Ability to teach and reinforce daily living skills.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive home environment for residents.
• Provide instruction and support in daily living skills (social skills, self-care, domestic tasks, money management).
• Plan and implement recreational activities and weekend programming.
• Support development and implementation of ISP and Person-Centered Plans.
• Document resident progress toward goals and maintain records.
• Assist with household management and maintenance checklists.
• Support staff scheduling and home coverage needs.
• Mentor and train new Life Skills Instructors during onboarding.
• Lead and support second shift operations within the home.
• Cover open shifts as needed.
• Promote independence, personal choice, and community involvement for residents.
