Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Land Acquisition Area Manager for Ocean County, New Jersey.

You will lead identification, evaluation, and negotiation of land deals to support the division’s growth while coordinating due diligence and closing activities. Ideal candidates bring 5–7 years in land acquisition or real estate, strong negotiation and financial analysis skills, and the ability to travel for early-stage land opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience required.
• 5–7 years of progressive experience in land acquisition, development, real estate, or homebuilding.
• Ability to independently manage complex transactions and make sound recommendations.
• Strong negotiation and due-diligence skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue land acquisition opportunities aligned with business objectives.
• Lead negotiations with landowners, brokers, developers, attorneys, and stakeholders.
• Evaluate opportunities through financial analysis and risk assessment.
• Structure transactions to maximize profitability while mitigating risk.
• Coordinate due diligence and entitlement processes.
• Present acquisition recommendations to senior leadership for approval.
• Develop relationships with brokers, developers, and industry professionals.
