D.R. Horton, Inc. in New Jersey is seeking a Land Acquisition Area Manager to source, evaluate, and secure land opportunities to support regional growth.

You will lead negotiations with landowners, brokers, and developers from identification through closing, coordinating due diligence and entitlement processes. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in business, real estate, finance, urban planning, or engineering, plus five to seven years of land acquisition experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Business Administration, Real Estate, Finance, Urban Planning, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years of progressive land acquisition/real estate/homebuilding experience required.
• Ability to independently manage complex transactions and provide sound business recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue land acquisition opportunities aligned with strategic objectives and housing demand forecasts.
• Lead negotiations with landowners, brokers, developers, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
• Evaluate opportunities through financial analysis, due diligence, and risk assessment.
• Structure transactions to maximize profitability while minimizing risk.
• Coordinate due diligence and ensure timely entitlement, environmental, engineering, and legal reviews.
• Present acquisition recommendations to senior leadership for approval.
• Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, developers, and landowners to generate opportunities.
• Manage transactions through contract execution, approvals, and closing.
