Job summary

IES is seeking a highly skilled HVAC Service Technician to join our Cincinnati team. You will perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on residential HVAC systems with a focus on safety and customer satisfaction. Candidates should have 2-4 years of experience, EPA certification, and the ability to read technical manuals and use diagnostic tools.

Local candidates preferred. This role requires lifting up to 75 lbs, working in tight spaces, and adhering to codes.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience servicing HVAC systems (residential and/or light commercial).
Valid EPA Certification.
Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical components of HVAC systems.
Proficient in using HVAC diagnostic tools and software.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Must pass background check, drug screening, and have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

Respond promptly to residential service requests.
Use advanced diagnostic tools to troubleshoot HVAC malfunctions.
Test and evaluate system components to determine repairs.
Perform preventive maintenance: clean/replace filters, inspect coils, check refrigerant, lubricate fans/motors.
Perform system upgrades or replacements when needed per code and specs.
Explain issues and recommended maintenance to customers.
Maintain accurate service records and complete work orders.
Follow safety procedures and environmental regulations.
Coordinate with dispatchers to optimize routes and support teammates.
