Role Summary

We’re hiring experienced Residential HVAC Service Technicians to join our team. Service-focused candidates must communicate clearly with homeowners, explain options and needed solutions, and independently complete common residential service calls from day one. In a competitive market, we value skilled diagnostic talent and offer consistent hours, guaranteed stability, and premier pay to match. This role reports to our Sales Manager.

Who We Seek

• 3+ years of residential and light commercial HVAC technician experience.
• At least 2 years of residential HVAC troubleshooting, problem solving, and repairing.
• Growth mindset; coachable and willing to learn.
• Open to mentoring and paying knowledge forward.
• Problem-solver who takes ownership and closes the loop.
• Comfortable explaining and recommending solutions and modulating equipment on calls.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Must be able to meet on-call and attendance expectations.
• Able to pass a background check and motor vehicle report.

Top 5 Service Calls You Must Be Able to Do Independently (typical equipment & competencies)

• Central AC diagnostics & repair (residential split systems, 13–20 SEER consumer units). Includes communicating/modulating equipment operation and staging.
• Furnace/air handler service and repair (residential gas furnaces, ECM/blower motors, heat pumps).
• Heat pump troubleshooting and repairs (residential air-source systems, refrigerant diagnostics) - communicate system modulation and defrost behavior.
• Refrigerant leak detection and recharge (R-410A systems, metering device faults). Experience with 454B and RDS control boards required.
• Preventive maintenance & tune‑ups (filters, coils, electrical checks, thermostat calibration) on residential equipment.

Overall Daily Expectations

• Complete standard service diagnostic workflow and documentation in ServiceTitan.
• Isolate and repair common failures on residential split systems and gas furnaces.
• Perform PM tune‑ups and customer‑facing explanations/estimates; explain/modulate equipment operation when advising customers.
• Accurately complete work orders, collect payment, and close tickets.
• Communicate professionally with homeowners, Dispatcher, and report to Sales Manager.
• You will utilize ServiceTitan, Rilla, mobile diagnostic tools, and standard HVAC hand and power tools. Bring your own basic hand tools; the company provides all specialty diagnostic equipment and your vehicle.

Schedule, Workload & Training

• Typical week: ~45–50 hours. Typical hours ~7:30 AM–4:00 PM.
• On‑call rotation: currently ~1 night per week plus rotating weekends (Sundays/Saturdays schedule to be confirmed). Truck may be taken home if on‑call.
• Must be willing to come into the shop 2x/week; training Tuesdays/Thursdays at 7:30 AM.
• Ride‑alongs with experienced techs, guided through our 10‑step service process, ServiceTitan workflows, and sales coaching.
• Regular training sessions (vendor or internal) Thursday mornings.
