Job summary

Carrier is seeking a Systems Engineer to design, develop, and validate residential HVAC systems and components in Indianapolis. You will work cross-functionally with lab, manufacturing, and product engineering teams to deliver high-performance, manufacturable solutions.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in engineering (or Master’s with relevant experience) and a strong background in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics. Onsite work and a competitive compensation package are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or technical field with at least 3 years of engineering analysis, troubleshooting, and design experience.
• OR Master’s degree with at least 1 year of engineering analysis, troubleshooting, and design experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop residential HVAC systems and subsystems.
• Develop and validate thermal and system-level models to support design decisions.
• Collaborate with laboratory teams on performance, reliability, and compliance testing.
• Evaluate system readiness for manufacturability and production.
• Partner with manufacturing to translate design requirements into scalable solutions.
• Troubleshoot system-level issues and support continuous improvement efforts.
• Support multiple small projects or tasks to meet program objectives.
