Carrier in Indianapolis is seeking a Senior Systems Test Engineer to oversee embedded system testing for HVAC controls, ensuring alignment with system requirements and customer expectations. You will own testing across new and legacy HVAC control systems in labs, test cells, and field sites, developing methods and test plans while collaborating with a broad engineering team.

The role is full-time and onsite at the Carrier-Indianapolis facility, reporting to the Associate Director, Firmware &

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5+ years of systems engineering experience with embedded products.
• 5+ years of integrating and testing complex embedded control systems.
• 3+ years of experience using root cause analysis strategies.
• Able and willing to travel up to 10% per year (international and domestic).

Responsibilities

• Define integration tests for HVAC embedded systems in collaboration with hardware, firmware, software and manufacturing teams.
• Execute as systems integration test engineer across product development processes.
• Collaborate with field trial coordinators to identify and manage trial sites.
• Assist in trade-off decisions between hardware and firmware/software during testing.
• Capture requirements, write test specifications, and define test plans for verification and validation.
• Perform testing in lab environments and test cells.
• Contribute to project planning with estimates of tasks, resources, and time.
• Participate in DFMEAs and document system and software testing approaches.
