  • Run company-provided residential HVAC sales opportunities and replacement leads.
  • Meet with homeowners to understand comfort concerns, equipment problems, and budget.
  • Evaluate existing HVAC systems and gather information for replacements or upgrades.
  • Present clear options for replacement and improvement with justified reasoning.
  • Coordinate with installation management to ensure projects are completed as proposed.
  • Maintain accurate customer and sales information in ServiceTitan and other systems.

Salary: $250,000.00 to $400,000.00 Commission Only

Position Summary

The Residential HVAC Salesperson is responsible for meeting with homeowners, identifying their heating and cooling needs, educating them on available solutions, and providing clear, professional options that improve the comfort, efficiency, and reliability of their home.

This position represents Paul The Plumber in the home and plays an important role in delivering our commitment to Service With a Smile . The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, professionalism, and a customer-first sales approach.

The goal is not simply to sell equipment, but to understand the customer's needs, provide appropriate solutions, build trust, and create an exceptional customer experience from the initial appointment through installation.

Requirements
  • Previous residential HVAC sales, HVAC service, installation, or related home-services experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of residential heating and cooling systems.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to homeowners.
  • Strong interpersonal, listening, and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable discussing pricing and asking customers to make purchasing decisions.
  • Organized and capable of managing multiple estimates, follow-ups, and active opportunities.
  • Ability to use tablets, smartphones, ServiceTitan, email, and other company technology.
  • Professional appearance and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Summary
Key Responsibilities
  • Run company-provided residential HVAC sales opportunities and replacement leads.
  • Meet with homeowners to understand comfort concerns, equipment problems, efficiency goals, budget considerations, and long-term plans for their home.
  • Evaluate existing HVAC systems and gather the information necessary to recommend appropriate replacement or upgrade options.
  • Perform accurate measurements and collect job-site information necessary for proper equipment selection and installation planning.
  • Present homeowners with clear options for HVAC replacement and improvement.
  • Explain the features, benefits, warranties, operating costs, and differences between recommended systems in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Educate customers on available heating and cooling solutions, including furnaces, boilers, central air conditioning, heat pumps, ductless systems, indoor air quality products, and other solutions offered by Paul The Plumber.
  • Discuss available financing options, rebates, promotions, warranties, and applicable membership benefits.
  • Prepare accurate proposals and ensure pricing, equipment, scope of work, and customer expectations are clearly documented.
  • Obtain required customer approvals and signatures before work is scheduled.
  • Coordinate closely with HVAC installation management to ensure sold projects can be completed as proposed.
  • Provide installers with accurate job notes, photos, measurements, equipment selections, and any special job-site considerations.
  • Communicate promptly with customers and internal team members regarding questions, changes, or issues.
  • Follow up on outstanding estimates and unsold opportunities in accordance with company expectations.
  • Maintain accurate customer and sales information within ServiceTitan and other company systems.
  • Participate in regular sales meetings, training, coaching, and product education.
  • Stay current on HVAC equipment, technology, rebates, financing programs, warranties, and company offerings.
  • Represent Paul The Plumber professionally in appearance, communication, driving, and conduct at all times.
  • The Residential HVAC Salesperson is expected to consistently manage their opportunities and sales pipeline while maintaining the customer experience and reputation of Paul The Plumber.

Performance will be evaluated using metrics including:

  • Total sold revenue
  • Closing percentage
  • Average ticket
  • Lead follow-up
  • Accuracy and completeness of sold jobs
  • Installation readiness and quality of job documentation
  • Achievement of individual and departmental sales goals

Sales performance should never come at the expense of honesty, customer trust, proper system design, or the company's reputation.
