Job summary

American Avenue Property Management (AA) seeks an HVAC Residential Maintenance Technician to lead the service of our single-family rentals in Detroit, MI. You’ll diagnose and repair HVAC systems, manage turns between residents, and document work in our app.

Expect a hands-on role, autonomy, and a route-driven schedule with no micromanagement. Requirements include EPA Universal certification, 3+ years of residential HVAC experience, your own truck and tools, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• EPA Universal certification required.
• 3+ years hands-on residential HVAC diagnostics and repair.
• Own truck or van and your own hand tools (tools reimbursed)
• Valid driver’s license; pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair residential HVAC: split systems, heat pumps, gas furnaces, package units, minisplits.
• Handle refrigerant work: leak detection, recovery, charging (EPA 608).
• Repair thermostats, condensers, blower motors, capacitors; board-level troubleshooting.
• Possibly perform full system installs and change-outs.
• Handle plumbing/electrical/carpentry calls; multi-trade days common.
• Document all work with photos in our app (iPhone/iPad).
