Job summary

American Avenue Property Management LLC in Detroit, MI is seeking a Residential Maintenance Technician (Property Engineer) to service single-family rental homes across our markets.

You’ll troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliances, drive your own vehicle with mileage reimbursement, and receive a generous benefits package including health, dental, PTO, and tool reimbursement. This is a full-time role with guaranteed 40 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• 3+ years multi-trade maintenance experience.
• Confident in at least 3 of: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliances.
• Own truck or van + own hand tools (reimbursed + mileage).
• Valid driver's license; on-call ready.
• EPA 608 Universal certification is a big plus.

Responsibilities

• HVAC troubleshooting and repair.
• Plumbing tasks including water heaters, drains, leaks, fixtures.
• Electrical work: outlets, switches, circuits.
• Carpentry, drywall patching, doors, and smoke detectors.
• Appliance repair and replacements.
• Turnovers and make-readies between residents.
• Inspections and securement of homes.
• Photo documentation in our app.
