Calqulate Metrics Ltd in San Diego seeks an Assistant General Manager/General Manager for the Residential Division. This role partners with the San Diego GM to run day-to-day operations and drive growth across single-family and multi-family builds.

The ideal candidate has led $20M+ P&L, managed 50+ tradespeople and staff, and built repeatable revenue through builder relationships. This is a working leadership position with a clear succession path.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive operations leadership in residential plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical contracting.
• Demonstrated P&L responsibility of $20M or larger.
• Experience building and retaining builder relationships in Southern California, preferably San Diego.
• Leadership of teams of 50+ across field and office with a track record of bench development.
• Sales orientation with proven impact on book-of-business growth.
• Executive-level credibility with GM/COO and builder leadership.

Responsibilities

• Co-own divisional P&L performance alongside the GM, including revenue, gross margin, labor productivity, material spend, and overhead absorption.
• Drive on-time, on-budget execution across active single-family and multi-family communities, coordinating with builders, field leadership, and service groups.
• Enforce safety standards and partner with safety functions for compliance, training cadence, and incident response.
• Identify operational bottlenecks before they impact schedule, labor, materials, and quality.
• Develop new builder relationships, pursue project opportunities from qualification through award, and manage pricing strategy and contract negotiations.
• Represent the division at the builder table, monitor market absorption and site opportunities, and plan strategic growth.
• Direct supervision of 50–75 personnel across field and office; coach and develop leadership, uphold accountability and integrity.
• Run the division in the GM's absence and participate in divisional strategy, planning, forecasting, and resource allocation.
