A growing home services company in Orange County is hiring a Residential Field Technician for a direct hire opportunity based in Irvine, CA. Key Responsibilities
- Travel to residential customer appointments throughout Orange County to inspect, diagnose, and service garage door systems, openers, hardware, and related components.
- Explain findings, repair needs, pricing, warranties, and service options to homeowners in a clear, professional, and consultative manner.
- Present repair and replacement solutions using a customer-focused “good, better, best” approach.
- Complete approved repair and service work efficiently while maintaining quality, safety, and customer satisfaction standards.
- Collect payment, document completed work, and maintain strong communication with the team throughout the day.
- Build trust with homeowners through professionalism, reliability, and a positive customer service experience.
Compensation and Benefits
- Direct hire opportunity.
- Training pay: $25 per hour for up to 8 weeks.
- After training: 100% commission-based compensation.
- Commission structure: 15% to 20% of net sales.
- Average earning potential: $80,000 to $120,000+ per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Diagnose residential garage door system issues and recommend appropriate repair or replacement solutions.
- Complete hands-on field repairs and service work at customer homes.
- Present service options, estimates, and recommendations in a professional sales and customer service environment.
- Manage daily field appointments independently while maintaining accurate documentation and communication.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience preferred in field service, customer service, mechanical work, sales, or a related hands-on role.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and mechanical systems.
- Customer service experience with a professional, friendly, and trustworthy approach.
- Comfortable entering customers’ homes and communicating directly with homeowners.
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to explain problems, options, and solutions clearly.
- Comfortable with sales conversations, upselling, recommending improvements, and closing service opportunities.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently in a field-based environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality work.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout Orange County.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- No prior garage door experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a residential service technician, field technician, or home services technician.
- Background in pest control, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, window service, door installation, cable, internet, or telecommunications field service.
- Previous experience in door-to-door sales, canvassing, in-home sales, or consultative service sales.
- Experience troubleshooting customer issues and recommending repair, replacement, or upgrade solutions.
- Prior garage door service, installation, or repair experience is helpful but not required.
