Job summary

ICF in Wilmington, DE seeks an Energy Efficiency Advisor to review residential audits, verify field work, and support contractors and customers in understanding program requirements. This field-based role focuses on maintaining program standards and driving energy savings.

The position emphasizes QA/QC of audits, contractor guidance, and customer education, with a base salary expectation around $80k–$99k depending on location and experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience in residential energy auditing, contractor management, and quality assurance.
• BPI BA-T and BA-P certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days).
• Must have a valid driver’s license and pass Motor Vehicle Records (MVR).
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Energy Management, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
• BPI QCI certification.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software for energy modeling.
• Familiarity with building science principles and energy efficiency technologies.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
• Knowledge of utility energy efficiency programs and weatherization standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct QA/QC reviews of residential energy audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Complete field inspections to verify proper installation of energy-saving measures.
• Support contractors with technical guidance and help resolve installation or documentation issues.
• Assist customers by explaining audit results, recommended measures, and available incentives.
• Review audit data and reports to confirm quality and identify improvements.
• Help onboard and monitor contractors to maintain high program standards.
• Work with inspectors, contractors, and internal teams to address issues and confirm corrective actions.
• Provide clear education to customers and contractors on program requirements and best practices.
