Job summary

ICF in New Jersey is seeking a Residential Energy Auditor (Field-Based) to perform in-home energy audits in Essex and Morris Counties, using blower doors, infrared cameras, and other diagnostic tools. You will assess insulation, HVAC, lighting and appliances, compile audit reports, educate homeowners, and coordinate with contractors while adhering to program guidelines.

A valid driver's license and ability to travel locally are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4+ years of experience in residential energy auditing or building performance.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software for energy modeling.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within assigned territory.
• BPI BA-T and BA-P certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site energy audits using diagnostic tools such as blower doors and infrared cameras.
• Inspect insulation, HVAC systems, lighting, and appliances for efficiency and safety.
• Collect and analyze utility data to determine baseline energy usage.
• Prepare detailed audit reports and work orders with recommendations and cost-benefit analysis.
• Educate homeowners and property managers on energy efficiency practices and incentives.
• Coordinate with contractors and QA/QC inspectors to verify installation of measures.
