Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking an engineering intern to provide technical support for mass market efficiency programs at our Denver, CO corporate office. You will analyze datasets, assist with energy modeling, and collaborate with engineers on real-world projects that reduce carbon and improve customer outcomes.

The role requires current enrollment in an ABET-accredited program in Engineering or CS, and the ability to work up to 40 hours/week in summer or 20 hours/week during the school year, with

Qualifications

• Current student, Junior or higher (as of Fall 2027).
• Enrolled in an ABET-accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
• Able to work full-time during summer (up to 40 hours/week) or part-time during school year (up to 20 hours/week).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical engineering support for large-scale residential efficiency programs.
• Evaluate and review actual customer energy projects.
• Collaborate with engineers to drive process improvements and innovation.
• Write code (Python or VBA) to analyze energy datasets and automate workflows.
• Translate complex technical data into clear, actionable insights.
