Job summary

Rachel Contracting is seeking an Estimator/Project Manager for residential development. The role focuses on estimating and managing earthwork projects for private clients, while overseeing cost accounting and invoicing.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of residential earthwork experience, strong communication, and demonstrated leadership under challenging conditions. The position includes mentoring interns and coordinating with field staff and management.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of residential earthwork experience.
• Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication.

Responsibilities

• Estimating and project management of residential earthwork projects for private clients.
• Navigate and understand cost accounting for ongoing projects including daily/weekly cost verifications, review/confirmation of daily logs, change orders, monthly project cost projections, and invoicing.
• Perform all necessary project communications with clients, field staff, office support staff and management.
• Maintain necessary estimating and project files.
• Assist with mentoring of junior estimator/project managers and seasonal interns.
• Train and assist with coordination of interns performing takeoffs and other support tasks.
• Prepare take-offs for residential earthwork projects.
• Manage and monitor project billings and collections, attend project meetings, represent Rachel Contracting with clients/vendors/subcontractors, coordinate/direct field staff as necessary, and complete project communications.
• Conduct ongoing marketing of existing clients and assist in developing new client relationships.
