Job summary

ICL in Brooklyn is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide direct care and support to adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities in a residential setting. You will assist with daily living needs, support skill development, and help maintain a safe, clean living environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, a DSP certificate, AMAP/SCIP-R/CPR/First Aid certifications within six months, and a valid NY driver's license if required by shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Direct Support Professional (DSP) Certificate from an accredited organization.
• Experience providing direct care to adults with developmental/physical disabilities preferred.
• AMAP, SCIP-R, CPR and First Aid certifications to be obtained within six months of hire.
• Valid New York State Driver’s License with a clean driving record may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and health support, including hygiene, grooming, toileting, medication administration per AMAP.
• Support nutrition and mealtime activities, including meal preparation and safe food handling.
• Maintain a safe, clean residential environment and assist with housekeeping and safety tasks.
• Promote development, independence, and community integration through skill-building and transportation support.
• Encourage positive interpersonal relationships and daily living skills; document progress and participate in planning.
• Apply behavior management techniques and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
