Job summary

ICL is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a residential setting in Brooklyn, NY. The DSP will provide direct care to adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities, supporting daily living, nutrition, safety, and community integration.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and a DSP certificate, with certifications like AMAP/SCIP-R/CPR obtainable within 6 months. A NY driver’s license may be required depending on shift/location, and US work authorization is

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Direct Support Professional (DSP) Certificate from an accredited organization.
• Experience providing direct care to adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities preferred.
• AMAP, SCIP-R, CPR and First Aid certifications current or obtainable within 6 months.
• New York State Driver’s License with a clean driving record (where required).
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and health support, including hygiene, grooming, toileting, medication administration (per AMAP).
• Support nutrition and mealtime activities, including meal preparation and safe food handling.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized residential environment; perform housekeeping and safety tasks.
• Promote independence and community integration through skill-building, recreation, and transportation.
• Encourage positive interpersonal relationships, communication, money management, and leisure activities.
• Observe, document, and report individual progress; participate in planning, team meetings, and training.
• Apply approved behavior management techniques and respond to emergencies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
