Job summary

The Developmental Specialist at Monarch Healthcare will primarily support individuals to achieve personal dreams and goals, providing person-centered supports and advocating for rights.

You will assess hopes, help develop community relationships, assist with daily activities, arrange transportation, and document progress and plans according to agency policies. A HS diploma and valid driver’s license are required.

Responsibilities

• Assess each person for hopes, dreams, and desires and provide supports that facilitate achievement.
• Support people in developing relationships in their community and with their natural supports.
• Assist people in participating fully in their community consistent with the person’s interests.
• Ensure rights are protected and promoted; assist with advocacy skills and personal advocates.
• Provide support to meet emotional, physical, and medical needs of each person.
• Facilitate person-centered, positive relationships promoting self-determination.
• Input and recommendations into assessment and planning; implement plans and document as required.
• Complete daily progress notes and communication logs to ensure goals are met.
• Assist with day-to-day home operations (housekeeping, meals, laundry, etc.).
• Drive and arrange transportation as required.
• Assist with emergency procedures and personal safety; conduct drills and inspections.
• Assist new staff with orientation, mentoring, and training.
• Sleepover at a residential setting may be required.
• Attend meetings and training; maintain certifications.
• Follow policies and regulations; perform other duties as assigned.
