Job summary

The University of Kansas is seeking an Assistant Custodial Supervisor for Housing to supervise daily cleaning in residential buildings and support the Assistant Director of Residential Custodial Services. This role includes scheduling, training, safety, and occasional hands-on cleaning duties, with travel by assigned vehicles within KU housing locations.

Ideal candidates bring custodial supervisory experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to coordinate staff across shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3 years of custodial experience required.
• Lead worker or supervisory experience or KU leadership course preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Assistant Director of Residential Custodial Services in planning, coordinating, and directing the daily work of custodial staff.
• Provides direct supervision of custodial staff, assigns work, monitors workloads, and ensures schedules and standards.
• Conducts routine inspections, identifies deficiencies, and ensures corrective actions.
• Identifies training needs and reinforces cleaning techniques and safety practices; communicates progress to supervisor.
• Transports staff, equipment, and supplies as needed to housing locations; maintains documentation of staffing and performance.
