Job summary

The University of Kansas is seeking a Custodian to perform routine custodial tasks in offices and classrooms, including sweeping, mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, dusting, and disinfecting restrooms, as well as floor care. You will also collect and remove trash and help maintain clean, safe spaces.

Work schedule is Monday–Friday 4:00 pm to 12:30 am. KU offers benefits including paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, retirement, medical & dental insurance, life and disability coverage,

Qualifications

Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to bend, stoop and kneel frequently.
Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Able to work under various temperature and weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Vacuum, mop, dust, and clean offices and classrooms.
Clean and maintain restrooms and common areas.
Strip, wax, and polish floors and surfaces.
Collect and remove trash and maintain cleanliness throughout the facilities.
Assist with snow removal and related tasks as needed.
Report equipment malfunctions and safety concerns.
Perform other custodial tasks as assigned.
