Job summary

SafeHouse Denver, Inc. is seeking a Residential Support Staff member to provide assistance to domestic violence survivors. This part-time position involves responding to crisis calls, conducting initial intakes, and facilitating safety planning.

Ideal candidates will have crisis intervention skills and strong communication abilities. With an hourly pay of $22, this role requires flexibility with work hours, including weekends and nights, and is open to all qualified applicants.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate’s degree in social work or related field preferred. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: One or more years in a related role; preferred two years of experience.
  • Skills: Crisis intervention and trauma‑informed care, strong communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to callers on the crisis line with emotional support and crisis intervention.
  • Provide information on domestic abuse, trauma response, and coping skills.
  • Assess immediate needs and help callers develop a plan of action.
  • Conduct initial intake of new residents and orient them to the shelter.
  • Facilitate safety planning and provide crisis intervention during intake.
