Job summary

Community Teamwork is seeking a Residential Counselor for our Shelter Staff program in Massachusetts. You will support clients in a congregate emergency shelter, enforcing house rules and safety while providing life skills guidance and crisis intervention as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Schedule: Every Saturday and every Sunday 4PM-12AM

Pay Range $20.59 - $21.21 per hour

Position Summary

This Residential Counselor will work in our Shelter Staff program and will be responsible for working closely with clients in a congregate emergency residential shelter site, to provide life skills support to individuals who are staying at the shelter. This position also provides oversight of site operations, which include enforcing safety measures, program rules, and expectations using a trauma-informed and client-centered approach. Other responsibilities include: assisting with screening, intake activities and orientation of new clients into the shelter program; providing guidance and information to clients regarding the daily activity schedule, house rules and policies; overseeing security and safety; completing housekeeping duties; ensuring daily chores are completed; providing emergency crisis management to individuals.

• 1 year previous experience working with individuals in need of social services (preferably low income individuals)
