Job summary

Vinfen Corporation in Windsor, CT is seeking a Residential Counselor to provide direct support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in small group homes or individual living arrangements. You will help residents build independence, participate in daily activities, and accompany them on outings to appointments or shopping.

Responsibilities include administering medications under MED, implementing treatment plans, and coordinating with families, staff, and community partners

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field preferred.
• Experience working with people with developmental disabilities and/or acquired brain injury preferred.
• Must be 21+ years old and have a valid US driver’s license for at least 6 months.
• CPR, First Aid certification within 2 weeks of employment and MED certification within 150 days of employment.
• CORI, reference, multi-state background and driving record checks will be conducted.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in group homes or individual living arrangements.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living and household tasks to increase independence.
• Administer medications under the MED program and implement treatment plans as prescribed.
• Coordinate transportation for outings and appointments to strengthen community connections.
