Role Description

The Residential Construction Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in New Alexandria, VA. This position oversees residential construction projects from pre-construction planning through final walkthrough, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating contractors and subcontractors, managing schedules, tracking progress, and resolving jobsite issues. The Project Manager will review plans and specifications, issue and manage change orders, monitor costs, and support permitting and inspections. This role also involves regular communication with clients, maintaining project documentation, enforcing safety protocols, and collaborating with design and procurement teams to keep projects moving efficiently.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Construction Project Management and Construction Management skills, including experience overseeing residential builds or renovations.
• Candidates should possess solid Project Management and Project Coordination skills for scheduling, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication.
• Candidates should possess budgeting and cost control skills, including the ability to track expenses, review estimates, and manage change orders.
• Relevant skills such as familiarity with building codes, permitting processes, and inspection requirements are highly beneficial.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, with strong attention to detail and quality standards.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, trade partners, and internal team members.
• Proficiency with project management and construction-related software tools; experience with scheduling software is a plus.
• 3- 5 years of residential construction management experience required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated ability to work on-site, manage multiple projects, and maintain a safe jobsite environment.
