Job summary

The People Pod is seeking a Construction Director to lead multi-site residential schemes, strengthen the construction function, and build a high-performing team. You will deliver safe, high-quality outcomes with autonomy and backing from senior leadership.

You will shape strategy, drive buildability, collaborate with Commercial and Pre-Construction, uphold safety standards, and enable long-term growth with a delivery-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Construction Director or Senior Construction Leader within residential development.
• Strong track record of leading multi-site residential programmes.
• Experience strengthening or scaling a construction function.
• Hands-on, energetic leader in a fast-moving environment.
• Experience shaping construction systems and delivery models.
• Ability to build and inspire teams with clear standards.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of impact on programme and cost.
• Collaborative across Technical, Commercial and Pre-Construction functions.
• Enjoys building rather than just the finished product.

Responsibilities

• Lead the construction function across multiple residential schemes, ensuring safe, high-quality and timely delivery.
• Oversee the full build lifecycle, embedding programme discipline and buildability from pre-construction through to completion.
• Shape construction strategy, sequencing, logistics and delivery models.
• Build, mentor and develop a high-performing construction team with clear standards and site leadership.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Technical and Pre-Construction teams to align on programme, cost, quality and risk.
• Maintain rigorous health and safety standards across all sites.
• Support early-stage planning and design reviews to ensure efficiency and viability.
• Drive continuous improvement with systems, processes and ways of working that support growth.
• Represent construction at senior leadership level and contribute to long-term strategy.
• Ensure customer satisfaction benchmarks are met regarding quality and aftercare.
