Position Summary/Overview

Job Description & Daily Duties

Picture this: You spend your days surrounded by the latest technology, collaborating with a dynamic team that values creativity and ingenuity. As an Audio/Visual Technician at IQ Automation, you will:

  • Install state-of-the-art audio/visual equipment in residential and commercial settings, delivering top-tier results.
  • Follow detailed instructions and diagrams to set up sophisticated systems, transforming spaces into smart environments.
  • Master the art of running and terminating various types of cabling (coaxial, category 6, fiber optic) with precision and flair.
  • Configure residential wired and wireless networks, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Dive into programming and installing innovative automation, lighting, and surveillance systems that wow our clients.
  • Be actively involved in different project phases, from prewire to final installation, ensuring seamless execution and client delight.
  • Keep our tools, equipment, and work areas organized, ready for action, and always on point.
  • Engage in exciting training sessions to continuously sharpen your technical skills and expand your product knowledge.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, ensuring projects are completed on time and exceed expectations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, becoming the hero our clients can count on.

Specific Requirements

  • 1-4 years of experience in residential/commercial systems installation, programming, and service.
  • A strong desire to learn and a passion for technology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A solid understanding of signal flow, cabling practices, and proper termination standards for coaxial, category 6, and fiber optic cabling.
  • Proficiency in Windows 10/11, Visio, and Microsoft Office products.
  • A current valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Optional Requirements

  • An associate or bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as CEDIA CIT/ITS, CompTIA Network+, or industry-standard network certification.
  • Experience with Control 4, Lutron RRA, HomeWorks, or similar systems.
  • Josh A.I. certification.
  • D-tools SI/Cloud experience.
