Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of building, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical construction and related codes.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, and diagrams.
• Familiar with zoning regulations and building codes enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct final inspections and review plans/specifications for residential construction.
• Ensure permits are present and verify conformity with codes and approved plans.
• Record data using call-in systems and maintain inspection records.
• Explain regulations to contractors, owners, architects, and the public; coordinate with others on complex issues.
• Issue violation notices and stop-work orders; testify as needed; participate in training and education.
