Job summary

Anne Arundel County Office of Personnel is seeking a Full-time, Permanent, Safety Sensitive Construction Inspector in the Department of Public Works, Utility Operations. The role involves inspecting sewage pumping stations, water mains, and road/utility projects to ensure conformance with specifications and regulations.

Work requires technical judgment, field inspections, and coordination with contractors, engineers, and property owners.

Qualifications

• High school or vocational graduate with two-plus years of construction-related inspection experience.
• Valid non-commercial Class C driver's license.
• Safety Sensitive position subject to CDS and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Inspect a wide variety of construction projects to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
• Review blueprints and plans; approve minor field changes as needed.
• Coordinate private and public utility adjustments and installations during projects.
• Prepare and maintain records and reports and communicate findings clearly in writing.
