Job summary

Rite of Passage is hiring a Child Care Worker at Alice C. Tyler Village of Childhelp in Lignum, Virginia. The role provides around-the-clock supervision for at-risk youth in a 270-acre residential setting, with emphasis on safety, personal health needs, and skill development.

Pay starts at $20-$23 per hour, with a $1,000 bonus after completing essential skills training within 90 days. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) match after 1 year, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.
• Approximately 6 months experience working with children preferred (paid or volunteer).

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and around-the-clock supervision of at-risk youth at a residential treatment facility.
• Attend to the physical, personal and health needs of each youth through counseling and skill development.
• Monitor and document behaviors and activities; participate in educational, social, athletic and recreational activities.
• Collaborate with other professional staff to meet each youth’s treatment plan goals.

Childhelp is a psychiatric residential treatment facility that specializes in the treatment of children aged 5-14 with mild to severe trauma or neglect, psychiatric disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders. Pay: Starting at $20- $23 an hour based on education and experience.

What you will do: Child Care Workers provide safety and around-the-clock supervision of at-risk youth at a residential treatment facility. In this role, you will provide for the physical, personal and health needs of each youth through individual counseling and behavioral/social/physical and educational skill development. Child Care Workers provide an atmosphere that is supportive of the youth’s needs; monitor and document behaviors and activities; and participate and assist with educational, social, athletic and recreational activities. Child Care Workers collaborate with other professional staff to establish and meet the goals of each youth's treatment plan.

To be considered you should: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred ~ 6 months experience working with children preferred (paid or volunteer) ~ Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.

Schedule: Day Shift and Evening Shift will be 5 eight hour shifts and will include both Saturday and Sunday. Overnight Shift will be 4 ten hour shifts and will work either Saturday Or Sunday

Day Shift: 6:30 am-2:30 pm

Evening Shift: 2:30 pm to 10:30 pm

Overnight Shift: 10:00 pm-8:00 am
