Job summary

Rite of Passage, in partnership with Childhelp, Alice C. Tyler Village in Lignum, Virginia, is seeking a PRN Therapist to provide mental health services to children aged 5-14. The role offers set or on-call hours, up to 20 hours weekly, with daytime hours 8:00 a.m.

to 6:00 p.m. Opportunities to facilitate therapy groups may arise and supervision is provided. Applicants should have a Master's in Social Work or related field, VA licensure (LCSW/LMFT/LPC) or be in a residency path, and at least 2

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work from an accredited School of Social Work or equivalent required.
• Virginia licensure as LCSW/LMFT/LPC or residency pathway (RIC/SiSW) required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience providing mental health counseling to children, adolescents, and families.
• Ability to perform a therapeutic restraint and pass a background check, drug screen, TB test.

Responsibilities

• Provide PRN or on-call therapy to clients, up to 20 hours per week, with daytime hours.
• Possibly facilitate therapeutic groups based on interests and clinical strengths.

Education

Master’s degree in social work

Licensed by the State of Virginia as an LCSW, LMFT, or LPC OR Resident in Counseling (RIC) or SiSW

Pay

Starting at $32/Hour, depending on education and licensure.

What You Will Do

As a PRN Therapist, you would provide either set or on-call hours, working up to 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. During scheduled hours, you would meet with clients and provide additional therapeutic support to help supplement the work of the primary therapist. You would not have a set caseload.

PRN Therapists may also have opportunities to facilitate therapeutic groups based on their areas of interest, clinical strengths, and the needs of the children in the program. This role offers flexibility while allowing you to remain actively involved in providing meaningful clinical support to both clients and the therapy team.

To be considered you should:

• Be at least 21 years of age
• Possess a Master’s degree in social work from an accredited School of Social Work or a Master’s degree in a related Mental Health field
• Licensed by the State of Virginia as an LCSW, LMFT, or LPC OR Licensed as a Resident in Counseling (RIC) or Supervisee in Social Work (SiSW)
• Minimum of 2 years of work experience providing mental health counseling services to children, adolescents, and their families
• Be able to perform a therapeutic restraint
• Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, and TB test

Schedule:

PRN- on call or scheduled as needed for position vacancies, or staff time out of office. Flexible hours and days.
