Job summary

Alternative Services - Oregon, Inc. is looking for an Assistant House Manager in the Eugene/Springfield area who will lead and support a residential team serving individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

You will help implement behavior support plans, de-escalate challenging situations, supervise Direct Support Professionals, and ensure thorough documentation while maintaining safety, dignity, and a warm, empowering environment.

Qualifications

• Experience or working knowledge of supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and safety-focused when responding to challenging or aggressive behaviors.
• Strong understanding of de-escalation techniques and willingness to use trained safety interventions.
• Leadership and coaching skills to guide and support Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).
• Knowledge of behavior support plans, incident reporting, and documentation.
• Ability to make sound decisions in high-stress or crisis situations.
• Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Commitment to dignity, respect, consistency, and safety for individuals served.

Responsibilities

• Support young men with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a residential group home.
• Oversee daily routines and ensure safety and well-being for individuals served.
• De-escalate challenging situations and follow behavior support plans.
• Lead and coach Direct Support Professionals to implement plans and maintain documentation.
• Maintain thorough incident documentation and ensure clear communication within the team.
