Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a Residential Care Manager for Moorlands Lodge Care Home in Portsmouth. You will lead the team of Care Supervisors to deliver high-quality personal care and act as an advocate for residents, safeguarding their wellbeing and dignity.

You will co-ordinate assessments, supervise staff, ensure equipment and safety standards, and maintain compliant care plans. NVQ Level 4 in Care and 2+ years in long-term care are essential, with strong leadership and empathy.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 4 in Care or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years' experience in long-term care.
• Comprehensive understanding of CQC Fundamental Standards.
• Experience leading a team in a similar care environment.

Responsibilities

• Co-ordinating the resident assessment process, ensuring care plans are accurate.
• Supporting, guiding, and developing team members.
• Ensuring equipment is stored, cleaned and maintained per manufacturer guidance.
• Ensuring Safe Medication Management procedures and auditing.
• Undertaking Quality Care Spot Checks and reporting on care quality.

We’re now looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual to join our award‑winning team as a Residential Care Manager at Moorlands Lodge Care Home in Portsmouth.

About The Role

Your focus as a Residential Care Manager will be to manage the group of Care Supervisors within the home ensuring that a high‑quality delivery of personal care is delivered to our residents. You will be an advocate for all residents, maintaining the best interest in all areas of the resident's wellbeing.

Other Responsibilities Will Include

• Co‑ordinating the resident assessment process, ensuring that the planned care is accurate and reflected in each individual care plan.
• Supporting, guiding, and developing their team members.
• Managing the process of ensuring that all equipment is stored in line with the manufacturer's instructions and is cleaned and stored appropriately after use.
• Ensuring compliance with the Safe Medication Management programme, with robust auditing procedures.
• Undertaking Quality Care Spot Checks reporting on the quality of care provided by Care Supervisors, Carers and Senior Carers within their team.
