Job summary

Beaumont House in Walton-on-the-Naze is seeking a Shift Leader to inspire the care team and deliver outstanding, person-centred support. The role involves leading shifts, assisting with rota planning and maintaining high standards of care within the Extra Care housing scheme.

You will work with Team Leaders and the Service Manager to ensure compassionate, safe, and responsive support for older adults, with opportunities for development through Orwell Academy and ongoing training.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading care teams and delivering person-centred support.
  • Knowledge of end-of-life care and safeguarding.
  • Understanding of CQC Fundamental Standards.
  • Strong communication, organisational and leadership abilities.
  • Passion for developing others in a care setting.

Responsibilities

Shift Leader – Beaumont House, Walton-on-the-Naze

£26,268.09 per annum

38 hours per week; Permanent

Working Pattern

This role is based on a 3-week rolling rota, working an average of 4 days per week. Contracted hours will be made up of:

  • 2 x 7-hour shifts
  • 2 x 12-hour shifts

At Beaumont House, our Extra Care service supports older people to live independently with dignity, choice and confidence. We're looking for a passionate Shift Leader to inspire and support our care team while helping us deliver outstanding, person-centred care.

What You'll Do

Working alongside the Team Leaders and Service Manager, you will:

  • Lead, motivate and support the care team during shifts.
  • Assist with rota planning and day-to-day service operations.
  • Champion high-quality, person-centred care and best practice.
  • Build positive relationships with customers, families and healthcare professionals.
  • Complete medication audits, competency assessments and care observations.
  • Support safe medication ordering, collection and administration.
  • Help create a warm, welcoming and homely environment for customers.
About You

You’ll have:

  • Experience supporting older and vulnerable adults in a care setting.
  • Knowledge of end‑of‑life care and person‑centred support.
  • Understanding of CQC Fundamental Standards.
  • Strong communication, organisation and leadership skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting people and developing others.

It gives you the security and privacy of a home of your own, with a range of shared facilities on the premises and 24-hour care services if you need them.
