Job summary

Lifeskills Behavioral Health in Fort Lauderdale seeks a Behavioral Health Technician to maintain a safe milieu and support clients with substance use and co-occurring disorders. You will work under the Residential Shift Supervisor and collaborate with the clinical team to implement interventions and document care.

Responsibilities include monitoring client behavior, assisting with ADLs, conducting screenings, transporting clients, and promoting a structured, therapeutic environment while

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or equivalent required; drug and alcohol cert preferred or obtainable within orientation.
• Requires 2+ years’ experience with clients with substance abuse and/or mental health issues.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License; CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Maintain client safety; monitor and document client behavior during shifts.
• Promote structured milieu; transport clients to appointments and activities.
• Prompt ADLs (hygiene, room care) and supervise meals as needed.
• Conduct drug screening, pregnancy tests, and breathalyzers when applicable.
• Document records accurately and communicate with clinical team; support discharge planning.
